The US Peace Corps is seeking an individual for the position of LANGUAGE AND CROSS-

CULTURE COORDINATOR (LCC).

 

Under the Supervision of the Deputy Director of Programming and Training, the Language & Culture Coordinator (LCC) organizes and manages the language & culture activities.  

 

S/he is primarily responsible for assisting in development, management and implementation of the Language and Cross Culture Training for Peace Corps Guinea.  During the Pre-service and In-service Training Cycles (PST/MST/IST), the LCC will serve as the full-time Language Trainer Supervisor and work under the direct supervision of the DDPT.  He/she  plans, designs, budgets, directs and evaluates language and culture training components for Peace Corps Volunteers and trainees, which reflect and serve their needs.  The Language & Culture Coordinator provides necessary support for the ongoing language learning of Volunteers.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

      Education: University Degree in English, or French (linguistics) Education, or related subject.

      Experience: Previous experience working in the field of education required with at least 4 years’ experience in working in a supervisory/leadership capacity; at least 2 years’ experience in designing and implementing training for groups of more than 10 people; at least 2 years’ experience in developing community development projects and Experience in motivating and working with community groups.

      Language: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and be able to and write at least one Guinean local language.

      Computer skills: Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
