Job purpose
Sightsavers is looking to recruit an experienced, dedicated and proactive Finance Officer to join the ASCEND programme in the Guinea Conakry office.
This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional with extensive Programme Finance experience within Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD’s), Nutrition or Public Health and a background in INGO’s to join Sightsavers.
The Finance and Support Services Officer will oversee and supervise the development and co-ordination of Sightsavers’ Finance & Support Services and the ASCEND Programme.
As Finance Officer, you will be responsible for a range of financial support functions including:
- financial planning
- financial management
- risk mitigation
- budgeting
- monitoring
- auditing
- writing reports and reviews of programme and project reports
- implement financial management and controls
- plan, analyse and retain accurate financial recordS
You will ensure compliance and adherence to organisational frameworks and will work collaboratively with programme and finance teams to identify areas for growth and improvement.
In addition to financial support, you will provide support on programme functions, such as:

- ensuring project documentation and procurement policies are up to date and in line with partners policies
- managing of project vehicles and all related insurance and paperwork
- supporting training and coaching, providing donor reporting and liaising with partners
Utilising your experience of Financial Management and Programme and Grant Management, you will collaborate with the programmatic teams for joint review of project/programme reports, planning and analysis as well as grant management support and project monitoring and audit.
The Finance Officer role will suit a candidate with a relevant Professional Accounting qualification or degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience. You will be experienced with communicating with key stakeholders and will have worked with government organisations and within an INGO

Interviews are expected to take place in the week commencing 14 September at the Guinea Conakry office. This will be a two-stage interview process with a short-written task. Social distancing and hygiene measures will be observed.
