The International Development Association (IDA) granted to the Government of Liberia global financing of One Hundred and forty four million and five hundred thousand dollars ($144,500,000) for the implementation of the Interconnection Project Côte d'Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra -Leone, Guinea (CLSG). Part of this amount is to be used to finance the following contract: Recruitment of One (1) ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE ASSISTANT (AFA).

The assignment of the Accounting and Finance Assistant (AFA) is to provide support to the Finance Division at the Headquarters. In Abidjan, the post holder will support in the preparation of accounting records and the compilation of financial data for financial required reports within the policy and procedural guidelines of the Donors and TRANSCO CLSG.

The duration of the assignment is for Twelve (12) months renewable if satisfactory performance.

The services to be provided shall include but not necessarily be limited to the following:

    Prepare payment vouchers, petty cash vouchers and other accounting records including journal vouchers for daily transactions;
    Enter transactions into computerized accounting system (TOMPRO) on a daily basis;
    File accounting records in a secure and organized manner;
    Review petty cash reports regularly and verify their accuracy against source documents for the head office; country offices and field offices in each CLSG country;
    Assist with the update of the cashbook on a monthly basis;
    Assist with fixed assets classification, tagging of assets, verification of assets and update of fixed assets register;
    Assist with the preparation of bank reconciliation reports;
    Assist with the preparation of withdrawal application forms;
    Assist with the input of data in the accounting system;
    Assist with the preparation of monthly disbursement reports and interim financial statements.

TRANSCO CLSG now invites eligible applicants ("Individual Consultants") to indicate their interest in providing the services described above. Interested consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the services, including CVs, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, etc..

The requirements are:
•    Hold a first degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or in a related field;
•    Have a minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in the field of Accounting or Financial services including at least one (1) year in the private sector or an NGO;
•    Good communication skills, and the ability to use computer based financial accounting tools and software (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint...) and the Internet;
•    Ability to work in a team in a multicultural environment and under pressure;
•    Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multi-tasking;
•    Have high attention to details.
•    Have good interpersonal Skills.
•    Being able to work with a team.
•    Have customer service skills.
•    This is a full time position and the Accounting and Finance Assistant must be available to start work immediately.
•    Have Proficiency in English or French (reading, speaking, and writing) and a working knowledge of the other language.
